ST. JOHN’S WELCOMES EXECUTIVE CHEF

 Kevin M. Toole has been appointed executive chef at St. John’s.  He is responsible for dining services both at St. John's Home, a 475- resident Eden Alternative skilled nursing facility, and St. John's Meadows, an independent and assisted living community offering 339 homes for seniors. Toole brings more than 20 years of professional cooking and kitchen management experience to St. John’s.  In this role, he is committed to creating a more person-centered, individualized dining experience for residents, in line with the organization’s vision to lead and inspire a shift in society’s views of elderhood.

Most recently, Toole served as food service director at Cherry Ridge Senior Community.  He was previously employed with Brook Lea Country Club, Rochester Marriott Thruway, and the Riverside Convention Center.  He has attended the Culinary Institute of America and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Medaille College.

St. John’s is a multi-level continuum of care for elders in Rochester.  St. John's Home, founded in 1899, is Rochester’s only registered Eden Alternative nursing home.   Located on an eight-acre campus on the corner of South and Highland Avenues, the Home provides rehabilitation, hospice and long term care to 475 residents.  St. John's Meadows, located on 35 acres in Brighton, offers a variety of independent and assisted living options.  St. John's Foundation develops financial resources for the family of St. John's services and programs, and supports other health-related programs for elders in Rochester.   St. John’s also provides services to people who continue living in their own homes through Day Break, its medical model adult day program.  Further information is available at www.stjohnsliving.org.
